Communities, churches and organizations have filled the calendar with the following holiday events.

Many of the activities listed will take place this Saturday and Sunday

  • The Donna Reed Foundation will show the following two classic movies during the holiday season at the Donna Reed Theater. Admission is $2.
  • Sunday, December 2, 1 p.m.: “Holiday Inn” starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire
  • Friday, December 14, 7 p.m.: “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” starring Chevy Chase
  • The Glory of Christmas, a celebration of Christ’s birth

  • • 3 p.m., cookie walk at community building, hot chocolate bar
  • 4 p.m., Santa will visit community building, photography shop
  • 4-6 p.m., soup and sandwiches at the community building
  • 6 p.m., Christmas parade on Main Street
  • 7 p.m. “Un-uttered,” 4-act play at Dow City School
  • Sunday, December 9
  • 3 p.m., “Un-uttered,” 4-act play at Dow City School
  • Free showing of “The Santa Clause” on December 8 in Denison

  • The Chamber and Development Council of Crawford County announced that the free showing of “The Santa Clause” on Saturday, December 8.
  • Families from across the area are invited to partake in the fun holiday tradition at the Donna Reed Theater.
  • After the movie, Santa will read the classic book “The Night Before Christmas” to all in attendance.
  • Children will then get the chance to share their Christmas wish lists with Santa and Mrs. Claus and they will also receive a bag of goodies.
  • The movie will begin at 1 p.m. and Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive immediately after the movie.
  • The event will conclude when all the children have had a chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
  • Many Denison merchants will be open for shopping needs, before and after the movie.
