Dakota Kropf, of Salix, and his father, Tim Kropf, of Denison, get a good laugh from a short cruise in a boat they made for the “Sink or Float” cardboard boat race, one of the “Red, White & Boom!” activities Wednesday at Yellow Smoke Park. Dakota’s boat was the only entry but was one of the sturdiest ever made in the seven years the contest has been offered at “Red, White & Boom!” It took Tim a number of tries to sink the vessel.
