Magana, 55, of Denison, was driving a red 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup; both were traveling north on Highway 59 north of K Avenue when a deer ran into the road. Lefeber slowed his vehicle to avoid the deer but Magana could now slow her vehicle quickly enough to avoid hitting the rear of Lefeber’s pickup, resulting in $4,000 damage. Joslin Espernaza Arriaza Esquivel, 18 (at the time of accident), of Denison, was driving a white 2013 Ford F150 pickup east on O Avenue. Due to the hillcrest west of the intersection, Schneider’s vision was obscured and he failed to yield to Arriaza Esquivel’s pickup. Schneider unsuccessfully attempted to accelerate to avoid the collision. Arriaza Esquivel’s pickup struck Schneider’s pickup broadside, causing $20,000 damage to the driver’s side of the cab and $10,000 damage to the front of her pickup. All parties involved sought medical treatment at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison and traveled there in a privately owned vehicle.
