Arrests and citations and violations
At 11:27 p.m. on March 20, the law enforcement center received a report of an intoxicated male with a knife on South Franklin Street in Dow City. Maynor Escalante, 36, was arrested for assault for displaying a dangerous weapon.
At 6:23 a.m. on March 22, Mary Adut Kuol, 34, of Denison was arrested on outstanding warrants.
At 1:35 a.m. on March 23, Aaron Hansen received a 0.02 violation during a traffic stop on Highway 30 southwest of Denison.
At 3:25 a.m. on March 23, Evan Nemitz, 29, was arrested for OWI, 2nd offense, and driving while license revoked. He was arrested after a report was called in that a truck with its lights on was in the ditch at 2696 F Avenue near Kiron.
A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:13 p.m. on March 13. Kortney Rose Lynn Yankey, 38, of Denison, was driving a white 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2 westbound on 1st Avenue North. Yankey preceded northbound on Avenue C before turning into an alley and striking a dumpster due to brake failure causing approximately $2,000 damage to the front of the vehicle. The dumpster sustained approximately $500 damage. The vehicle was towed away. No personal injuries reported.
At 10:05 p.m. on March 20, Debbie Malone reported a vehicle in the ditch at 2946 Highway 30, Denison.
At 3:32 p.m. on March 21, the law enforcement center received a report that a subject accidentally shot himself with a hog gun. The incident happened near Kiron. The subject lives in Crawford County but the incident happened at a hog barn located in Sac County. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office was given the information. Jaden Slechta, 21, of Kiron, was the individual listed on the incident report.
At 11:44 p.m. on March 21, the law enforcement center received a report of a vehicle that had broken down near Schleswig. Two subjects were inside the vehicle. The incident report said the plates did not match the vehicle being towed.
At 11:08 a.m. on March 22, it was reported that Matt Head, 34, of Denison, was bitten on the second finger of the right hand by a dog while trying to separate his and his brother, Jared’s, dogs, which were fighting with each other. He is not sure which dog bit him. The dogs are going to be observed at their owners’ homes.
At 9:28 p.m. on March 22, it was reported that Michael Walczak was bit in the right thigh by a dog belonging to Sierra Kroll. He received minor wounds. The incident happened on Ash Street in Ricketts.
