Melissa Gaye Samaniego and Mark Douglas Stapleton were arrested Thursday in Schleswig on drug-related charges.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 221 Fir Street in Schleswig yesterday.
During the search of the residence a large amount of methamphetamine was located, along with a large amount of cash.
Packaging material and scales were found with the methamphetamine.
Also located during the search were numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
All items were seized and taken as evidence.
Samaniego, 48, and Stapleton, 49, were charged with possession with intent to deliver more than five grams of methamphetamine, a Class B felony; failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Samaniego and Stapleton were booked into the Crawford County Jail on their charges and are being held without bond until they are seen by a judge.
The charges are allegations and the subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Denison Police Department, the Charter Oak Police Department and the sheriff’s office K9s assisted with the search warrant.
