Tadd Joshua Paige, 45, of Dow City, was arrested by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office today (May 30) on 10 counts of first-degree theft, Class C felonies, and 34 counts of 2nd degree theft, Class D felonies.

He is also charged with a Class B felony for ongoing criminal conduct.

The charges cover the period from January 14, 2016, through August 30, 2017.

It is alleged that Paige received 44 checks totaling $291,825.31 from an SEP IRA retirement account owned by his stepfather, Joseph A. Muff.

The criminal complaint filed in district court in Crawford County says Paige made phone calls to the Hartford and represented himself as Joseph A. Muff by using Muff's personal information to access the account.

Paige is in the Crawford County Jail with bail set at $275,000.
