Acts advance to semi-finals in talent search

A number of area performers have qualified for the semi-final round in Bill Riley’s 60th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search.

They will perform again this Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Sprout Division

Carlyle receives honorable mentions in Iowa State Fair photography contest

Angie Carlyle, of Denison received two honorable mention awards in the Photography Salon competition that was judged prior to the start of the Iowa State Fair.

Carlyle received an honorable mention in the people category in the adult division of black and white photography and an honorable mention in the plans, trains and automobiles category of special division for black and white or color photography.

The Photography entries will be on display on the third floor of the Patty and Jim Cownie Cultural Center each day of the Fair from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
