A celebration of the life of Eddie Foy III will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, at the Donna Reed Theater in Denison. Everyone is invited.

Foy was an award-winning Hollywood casting director who made Denison his new home with wife, Jan, on March 8.

He was a casting director for hundreds of television shows that became ingrained in the social consciousness in America, among them “The Donna Reed Show,” which starred the Denison native by the same name.

Foy became acquainted and then fell in love with Denison after teaching workshops at the Donna Reed Performing Arts Festival.

“I came here just to look at what they were doing with the Donna Reed Foundation because they asked me to teach, and I kept saying to myself, ‘This is a place I think I’d like to live.’” Foy said during an interview this summer.

Among the ways Foy’s life will be celebrated is through videos and photo montages set to music.
