Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park will host its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, October 12, with activities starting at 3 p.m. and lasting late into the night.

At 3 p.m. the Roten Bar Tavern and courtyard in the park’s Konferenz Centre will open. Euchre and bags tournaments will be offered. To register for either tournament, contact Tiffany Nichols at 712-655-3131 or events@germanhausbarn.com.

The German-American Dancers from Omaha will perform at 5 p.m., followed by an official German keg tapping ceremony.

Following is the rest of the schedule of events.

6-7 p.m.: Jan’s Catering from Audubon will serve an authentic German meal (reservations required: 712-655-3131 or events@germanhausbarn.com). Those not wishing to reserve the German dinner will be able to purchase brats and chips, available in the tavern throughout the entirety of the event.

7-10 p.m.: Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen from Mount Vernon will return to provide music, dancing and entertainment.

After the evening’s official entertainment ends, the tavern and courtyard will remain open for a late night patio party.

Two admission options are available, $10 general admission, which includes admittance and the evening’s entertainment; or a $25 Oktoberfest package, which includes self-guided tours of Hausbarn-Heritage Park from 3-5 p.m., the authentic German meal, all of the evening’s dancing and entertainment and access to the late night patio party.

Those wishing to purchase the Oktoberfest Package are asked to do so by Saturday, October 5 in order to reserve their spot for the German meal.

General admission tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 712-655-3131 or e-mailing events@germanhausbarn.com or may be purchased at the door.
