At 7:06 p.m. on August 26, Irvin Alejandro Soto-Martinez, 19, of Sioux City, was arrested for driving under a suspended license.

At 3:58 p.m. on August 27, Bernard Johnson Jr., 44, of Denison, was arrested for domestic abuse assault.

At 2:22 a.m. on August 28, Timothy Hoffman was arrested for driving under suspension and fraudulent use of plates. At the same traffic stop, Joseph Treinen was arrested on an Ida County warrant.


At 12:34 p.m. on August 16, Terry Allan Boettger, 64, of Denison, driver of a green 2015 Dodge Ram pickup, and Joshua Ryan Davis, 33, of Dow City, driver of a white 2007 Freightliner, were traveling west on Q Avenue west of 220th Street when Boettger struck the rear of Davis’s trailer. Boettger stated that the dust created by the semi trailer obstructed his view. There was damage to the front of the semi and minor damage to the rear of the trailer. No injuries were reported at the scene. There was $15,000 damage to the pickup.

At 3:44 p.m. on August 26, Jaycee Ann Fuentes, 22, of Denison, driver of a cream 2009 GMC Acadia, said she didn’t stop for a stop sign on South 9th Street and 2nd Avenue South in Denison and then stopped. She said she looked but didn’t see a red 2010 Toyota Corolla being driven by Irene Avalos Garcia, 37, of Denison, at the intersection. Fuentes proceeded into the intersection and her vehicle collided with the front passenger side of Garcia’s vehicle. Garcia explained she was headed north on South 9th Street and knew she didn’t have any traffic controls at the intersection she was approaching. She then proceeded through the intersection and the Fuentes vehicle collided with her vehicle. There was $2,000 damage to Fuentes’s vehicle and $3,500 damage to Garcia’s vehicle. Fuentes was cited for failure to prove security against liability (accident) and failure to obey a stop or yield sign. Garcia was cited for failure to have a valid license or permit for operation of a motor vehicle.
