Arrests and Warrants
At 10:05 a.m. on March 25, Padoua Salinas, 25, of Denison, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.
At 12 p.m. on March 25, Kuong Kok Biliew, 18, was served a warrant.
At 4:45 p.m. on March 26, Nathanael Seth Herrin, 28, of Jefferson, was arrested on an active Crawford County warrant.
At 3:30 p.m. on March 25, Tori Ann Marie Aceto, 24, of Ames, was driving a gray 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer with two passengers north on Highway 30/59 in Denison toward the 4th Avenue South intersection. She wasn’t aware of the stop sign until she got right up to the intersection. Ana Mirian Velasquez, 59, of Schleswig, was driving a gray 2004 Nissan Murano west on 4th Avenue South and had just left the stop sign at the intersection. When she got halfway through the intersection, Velasquez’s vehicle was hit on the driver’s side. The impact caused the Nissan to skid to the right and hit the stop sign post on the northwest side of the intersection. Both front and side airbags were deployed. The passenger in the Nissan was listed as a witness as well as another driver at the stop sign on the northwest side of the intersection. Aceto was charged with failure to provide proof of financial liability, accident, failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way and driving while license denied, suspended, cancelled or revoked. There was $4,500 damage to the Mitsubishi and $10,000 to the Nissan. No injuries were listed on the report.
At 4:43 a.m. on March 26, Marcia Bethsabel Mendoza Zuniga, 46, of Deloit, was driving a gray 2012 Toyota Camry south Highway 39 and was approaching Denison city limits when a deer entered the road from the west ditch. Zuniga struck the deer with the right front corner of her vehicle, causing damage to the front end. The driver was not hurt. There was $5,500 damage to the vehicle.
At 3:07 p.m. on March 27, Darren Anthony Pauley, 52, of Denison, driver of a black 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, backed out of his driveway and overcorrected into the mailbox at 1409 Northwood Drive in Denison. The mailbox was valued at $1,250. Pauley was cited for failure to maintain control. His pickup received $1,000 damage.
