At 4:35 a.m. on April 7, Hawa M. Akur, 22, of Denison, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
On April 9, Julio Guzman, 30, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.
At 2:42 p.m. on April 7, Makyoet, Benitez Melo, 24, of Defiance, was driving a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris south on Highway 59 just north of O Avenue. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. It left the road, became airborne and struck a light pole, breaking it off about seven feet above the ground. The vehicle rolled twice and came to rest in a field on its tires. Benitez Melo was tested for OWI and failed. He was arrested for failure to maintain control, no proof of insurance and OWI, 1st offense. Benitez Melo said he was not injured and refused to go to the hospital. The vehicle received $4,000 damage and was considered totaled. At 12:40 p.m. on April 10, Urbertino Jaimes-Gomez reported damage to the windshield and the passenger side door of his vehicle after hitting a turkey.
