Mapleton man charged with sexual assault

At 1:07 a.m. on August 3, Nicholas Noel Kennedy, 19, of Mapleton, was arrested and charged with third degree sexual assault, a Class C felony.

According to the criminal complaint filed in district court, on three different occasions between June 15 and August 1 this year, he had sex with a victim that he is four or more years older than.

Arrests and Citations

At 10:31 p.m. on July 31, Melita Salinas, 35, of Denison was cited and released for driving under suspension.

At 8:26 p.m. on July 31, Brittany Marie Ruhr, 22, of Schleswig, was arrested for driving while license suspended.

At 8:48 p.m. on August 2, Nyaluak Reast Dak, 39, of Denison, and Gordon John Jock, 35, of Denison, were arrested for domestic abuse.

At 7:47p.m. on August 3, Karen Elizabeth Gomez, 29, of Denison, was arrested on a warrant.

At 9:23 p.m. on August 4, Nelson Alberto Lopez Argueta, 20, of Denison, was arrested and charged with OWI, 1st offense.

At 3:54 a.m. on August 4, Terry Schroeder was cited for failure to maintain control.

Vandalism, Miscellaneous

On August 4, Matt Knowles reported a threat against his dog.

At 8:59 p.m. on August 4, Cindy Perez, of Denison, reported graffiti on two of her sheds.

At 7:25 p.m. on August 4, Santiago Garcia, of Schleswig, reported a window broken out of a vehicle.

A pickup fire was reported at 1:33 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, at 1920 190th Street. The Charter Oak and Ricketts fire departments were called.


At 12:48 p.m. on August 1, Padoua Salinas, 25, of Denison, driver of a black 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, was northbound in the left turn lane of Highway 59 at the Medical Parkway intersection, awaiting oncoming traffic. Robin Jo Mordhorst, 38, of Charter Oak, driver of a black 2017 GMC Sierra pickup, was northbound in the left turn lane following Salinas when she failed to pay attention, striking the rear of the Salinas vehicle. There was $2,000 damage to Mordhorst’s pickup and $6,000 damage to Salinas’s vehicle. Mordhorst was cited for following too close.

At 1:06 p.m. on August 1, a green 1999 Jeep was legally parked in the north side of row five of the Walmart parking lot in Denison facing north. The driver of the Jeep was observed walking into the store. A silver 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van was parked in row four facing the south two parking stalls to the east in the same aisle. The Jeep rolled toward the van and struck the passenger sliding door causing $2,000 damage. The Jeep had $100 damage on the driver’s side bumper. The drivers of both vehicles were in the store during the incident.
