Arrests and Charges

At 1:55 a.m. on June 30, Daniel Paul Anema, 37, of Okoboji was arrested for public intoxication.

On July 2, Tanner Alexander Harms, 21, of Iowa City was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth for vandalizing the television inside his cell at the Crawford County Jail.

At 2:20 p.m. on June 28, a silver 2001 Volkswagen Passat was in a parking stall east of the intersection of 1st Avenue South in Denison on the north side of the street and 12th Street. A gold 2003 Chevrolet Venture van was legally parked unattended facing east in front of 1209 1st Avenue South. The Volkswagen reportedly rolled across the street in a southeasterly direction and struck the left rear of the van with its left rear. The Volkswagen has a floor mount manual transmission, and the parking brake was apparently slightly engaged. There is a steep decline from the north side of 1st Avenue South which would lend to the Volkswagen rolling from its original parked position. There was $200 damage to the Volkswagen and $500 damage to the van.

At 5:31 p.m. on July 2, Patricia Lee Fenn, 72, of Vail, driver of a gray 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, was traveling east on Highway 30 in Denison and hit a deer. Her vehicle received approximately $1,400 damage.
