Arrests, Charges and Warrants

At 3:33 p.m. on August 22, Nathanael Seth Herrin, 29, was arrested for domestic abuse assault, 1st offense.

At 6:23 p.m. on August 22, Kiley Frank was arrested on a Crawford County warrant.

At 5:47 p.m. on August 22, Charles Greene and Laura Traufler were arrested for domestic abuse assault.

At 1:02 p.m. on August 23, Jose Rangel, 32, was picked up in Westside on an arrest warrant.

At 3:10 p.m. on August 23, Bomgaars Supply in Denison reported the theft of an item worth $19.99. Nathanael Seth Herrin, 29, of Denison, was taken into custody and charged with theft in the 5th degree. Online court records show that he made a negotiated or voluntarily plea of guilty on August 25.

At 3:28 a.m. on August 24, Paul Ter, 38, of Denison, was arrested for public intoxication.

On August 24, Kristin Hennings was charged with OWI, 1st offense.

Vandalism and Fires

At 1:48 a.m. on August 23, there was a report of a semi on fire on Highway 30 and 380th Street in Westside.

At 7:28 p.m. on August 25, Jason French, of Charter Oak, reported the back window broken out of a 1983 Oldsmobile.

Accidents

At 4:29 p.m. on August 20, a 2013 Kenworth ready-mix truck rolled over at the intersection of E16/D Avenue and Highway 39. According to the accident report, Stephen Ray Bailey, 27, of Churdan, was turning the truck left onto E16 from Highway 39. He stated he was traveling at approximately 25 miles per hour around the corner; the GPS indicated approximately 31 miles per hour. The vehicle traveled onto the shoulder, which gave way due to the weight of the vehicle. The vehicle was loaded with approximately 10 yards of 4,000-pound mixed concrete and the trail axle was down. The vehicle rolled over causing $200,000 damage, which the report said was a total loss. No injuries were reported at the scene. The truck is owned by Central Iowa Ready Mix, of Des Moines.

At 8:12 a.m. on August 23, Wendell Leroy Argotsinger, 91, of Denison, was driving a red 2015 Chevrolet pickup southbound in the McDonald’s parking lot. Argotsinger turned left into the online order stall to back into the west parking stall. A red 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was behind Argotsinger, traveling in the same direction. The driver of the Equinox turned right and parked in the stall facing west. Argotsinger’s vehicle struck the Equinox on the back bumper. There was no damage reported to Argotsinger’s pickup and $1,500 damage to the Equinox. Argotsinger was cited for failure to maintain registration plates.

At 7:15 a.m. on August 24, there was a report of an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Morningside Drive in Denison. The vehicle left the road and struck a concrete mailbox, re-entered the road, continuing northbound and left the scene. The concrete mailbox was valued at $1,000.
