Arrests and Warrants
At 9:23 p.m. on April 4, William Matthew Lee Soll, 39, was arrested on a Sac County warrant for parole violation.
At 10:21 p.m. on April 5, Brenda Kathleen Olson, 54, was arrested on a Crawford County warrant.
At 10:31 a.m. on April 6, Maketh Barech Mumhom, 30, of Denison, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
At 2:13 a.m. on April 7, Wayne Russel Johnson, 38, was arrested for OWI, 2nd offense, after his vehicle was stopped for crossing the center line.
At 2:42 a.m. on April 7, Makyoot Benitez Melo was arrested for OWI, interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer, failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance.
At 8:05 p.m. on April 2, Paul M. Ter, 38, of Denison, was arrested for public intoxication.
At 9:22 p.m. on April 5, Charles Green reported that his black Samsung Galaxy phone was taken.
At 2:59 a.m. on April 2, Nicholas William Frahm, 38, of Manilla, driver of a yellow 2004 Mazda, backed in an east/southeast direction into the cement guard next to the gas pump in front of Casey’s General Store in Denison. There was no noted damage to the pump or cement rail. There was $250 damage to Frahm’s vehicle.
At 11:05 p.m. on April 4, a gray 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Benny Vasguez, 42, of Denison was facing east on the lawn of 104 South 16th Street. Vasguez stated his car went off the front and they were trying to pull it out. When asked who was driving, he said nobody. There were tire tracks that looked like the Impala was driven through the lawn. When Vasguez was asked about the tire tracks, he said he didn’t know how they got there. Vasguez admitted to drinking and was charged with OWI. There was approximately $2,500 damage to the front of the car.
At 11:09 a.m. on April 5, Nalleli Ann Velasco Seal, 22, of Deloit, backed a gray 2018 Jeep Ranger into a black 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup being driven by Cory Allen Abbott, 53, of Denison. Abbott was traveling south on South Main Street in Denison and Velasco Seal was backing from a diagonal parking spot on the west side of South Main between 1st Avenue South and 2nd Avenue South. Velasco Seal’s vehicle received $300 damage and Abbott’s pickup received $3,000 damage. Velasco Seal was cited for unsafe backing.
A hit and run accident in the Family Table parking lot in Denison at 12:03 p.m. on April 5. A blue 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was legally parked, unattended, in the center row, second stall north of the alley. An unknown vehicle, described as a red Ford Taurus with a partial Iowa plate number 908, was attempting to park next to the pickup. The unknown vehicle struck the right, front corner of the pickup with its right, front corner. The unknown vehicle left the scene without notifying the pickup’s owner with the required information. The pickup received $100 damage.
At 5:30 p.m. on April 5, Anna Gladis Galecia, 42, of Denison, was driving a blue 2018 GMC Sierra truck and was leaving a parking space at the Smithfield Foods parking lot. While exiting the space, Galecia’s vehicle struck the left front of a blue 2001 Ford Escape, causing $1,000 damage. Galicia’s vehicle received $500 damage.
At 4:36 p.m. on April 6, Myra Jane Williams, 81, of Denison, was backing a silver 2007 Buick Lucerne from a parking stall on the north side of Eventide in Denison. Williams turned too far, causing the driver's front corner of her vehicle to scrape the driver's side door of a gray 2013 Chevrolet Camero SS, causing $1,000 damage. Williams’s car received $200 damage.
At 12:54 a.m. on April 7, a personal-injury, vehicle rollover accident was reported at Kenwood Road and O Avenue. A baby in the car was taken to Crawford County Memorial Hospital. A deputy spoke with the driver at the hospital. The incident report says charges are pending.
