At 12:43 a.m. on February 23, Conrad Jay Heiden, of Denison, reported his white 2000 Ford pickup stolen from Denison Job Corps. At approximately 4 a.m. on February 23, the stolen Ford pickup was recovered in Ida County and a suspect was held for questioning and possible OWI charges.

Arrest and Citations

At 12:12 a.m. on February 21, Nicholas David Kirk, 29, of Denison, was arrested for driving while license under suspension.

At 1:56 a.m. on February 22, Brittany Marie Ruhr, 22, of Denison. was arrested for driving while license suspended.

At 12:40 p.m. on February 22, Kevin Omar Contreras Sanchez, 24, of Denison, was arrested for domestic abuse assault, obstruction of emergency communications and interference with official acts.

At 3:13 a.m. on February 22, Dale Dean Wulf, of Vail, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, and cited for open container.


At 8:13 a.m. on February 18, Manuel Alexander Morales, 17, of Denison, driver of a bronze 2011 Jeep, was traveling eastbound on 13th Avenue South and reported losing traction. His vehicle slid into the oncoming lane. He attempted to avoid a silver 2015 Dodge Journey, being driven west on 13th Avenue South by Myrna Kay Meyer, 66, of Denison. Meyer attempted to avoid the Morales vehicle by swerving towards the north curb. Both vehicles ended up halfway on the road and half in a snow drift near the 8th Street South intersection. Meyer complained of chest pain; EMS was requested. Morales was cited with operating with a canceled title/suspended/revoked license. There was $3,000 damage to Meyer’s vehicle and $3,000 to Morales vehicle.

At 3:53 p.m. on February 19, Rae Charlotte Walsh, 60, of Odebolt, driver of a black 2007 Pontiac G6, was westbound on Broadway and stopped for a red light at the intersection with Main Street. Bernardino Anton Angeles Rivera, 56, of Denison, driver of a green 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe, was driving behind Walsh and struck the rear of her vehicle. There was $500 damage to Walsh’s vehicle and no damage to Rivera’s vehicle.

At 9:08 p.m. on February 21, Carlos Fernandez Viveros, 29, of Denison, driver of a black 2014 Ford F150 pickup, was backing onto Broadway when he had issues seeing the road clearly due to a parked car in the way. While backing, his vehicle struck a maroon 2012 Jeep Wrangler being driven east on Broadway by Anne Marie Neumann, 54, of Denison. The Ford pickup received approximately $1,500 damage and the Jeep received $350 in estimated damage.

At 9:39 p.m. on February 22, a vehicle driven by Zachery Benefit slid off the road due to the icy conditions and into the ditch at Highway 59 and X Avenue. Benedict was arrested for OWI, 1st offense.

At 9:22 p.m. on February 22, a vehicle driven by Jerry Haymans was westbound on U Avenue and due to the icy conditions, the vehicle left the roadway.

At 10:53 a.m. on February 24, Jennifer Lucille Bullock, 36, of Denison, driver of a black 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was eastbound on 3rd Avenue North approaching 19th Street. Epigmenio Arellano Jaime, 44, of Denison, driver of a gray 2013 Nissan Pathfinder SUV, was westbound on Third Avenue North leaving a parallel parking position at 1818 3rd Avenue North. Arellano Jaime was traveling uphill for the purpose of clearing snow from the street. Bullock was braking downhill and slid into the front end of the Nissan. The street was 100 percent snow and ice covered following a nine inch snow and freezing rain. There was $1,200 damage to the Jeep and $2,000 damage to the Nissan.
