At 8:27 p.m. on June 17, Arturo Valla Zarate was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


At 6:55 p.m. on June 17, Tiffany Henkel of Arion reported a dog bite.

At 5:20 p.m. on June 17, Crawford County Memorial Hospital reported a dog bite.


At 4:59 a.m. on June 16, Jonathan Wayne Sparks, 30, of Woodbine, driver of a white 2009 Kia Optima was traveling southbound on Highway 39 when he crossed the center line striking a white 2018 Freightliner Semi driven by Rick Ray Nelson, 54, of Hancock. Sparks came to final rest on the bridge. Nelson came to final rest north of the bridge. Sparks’ vehicle sustained approximately $7,000 in damage and was towed from the scene and taken to Waderich’s Towing in Denison. Sparks was checked by medical personnel and refused all medical treatment at the time. The semi sustained approximately $1,000 in damage. Sparks was issued two citations for improper use of lanes and for no insurance (accident related). Sparks was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Shelby County.
