Arrest

At 7:59 p.m. on March 3, Ronald Anderson Rodriguez, 28, of Denison was arrested for OWI, 1st offense.

Accidents

At 3:20 p.m. on February 25, Elba Hernandez Rodriguez, 52, of Denison, driver of a black 2004 Honda CRV, was eastbound in the inside lane of Highway 30 and Ricky Arnold Wulf, 60, of Deloit, driver of a blue 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, was eastbound in the outside lane of Highway 30 as both vehicles were approaching 16th Street. Rodriguez made a right turn onto 16th Street in front of Wulf and Wulf struck the Rodriguez vehicle. Rodriguez stated that she was in the outside lane and Wulf stated he was in the outside lane and that Rodriguez was in the inside lane. Damage indicates that Rodriguez was in the inside lane turning in front of Wulf. Both vehicles turned and stopped on 16th Street south of Highway 30. Rodriguez was cited for improper use of lanes. There was $4,500 damage to Rodriguez’ vehicle and $1,500 to Wulf’s vehicle.

At 9:23 a.m. on March 6, Kevin Clausen reported a car/deer accident southbound on L-51 between Dunlap and Charter Oak. There was damage to the headlight and bumper.

At 7:37 p.m. on March 5, there was a report of a four vehicle-accident at 23 North Grove Street in Kiron. A vehicle being released from a tow truck slid into another vehicle. Both vehicles were owned by Noel Bilbo. There was no damage to the first vehicle and minor damage to the rear corner bumper and front bumper the second vehicle. The second vehicle then slid into a third vehicle, owned by Wendy Skarin. There was light damage to the rear license light of Skarin’s vehicle. Skarin’s vehicle then slid into a fourth vehicle, owned by Gloria McGuire, striking the right front bumper and causing damage to the front license plate. All vehicles were legally parked on the east side of North Grove Street in Kiron and unoccupied. Total damage was approximately $2,500. The street was snow- and ice- covered and on a downhill slope. All parties will turn in estimates to the owner of vehicles one and two, Noel Bilbo.
