Arrests

At 4:32 p.m. on February 14, Jacob Deng Achuoth, 39, of Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested for public intoxication at Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits in Denison.

At 4:16 p.m. on February 15, Julio Cesar Guzman Rios, 30, of Denison, was arrested for stalking.

At 1:08 a.m. on February 17, Jose Ignacio Pocasangre Menjivar, 20, of Denison, was found sleeping in the Hy-Vee breakroom and was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

At 11:51 p.m. on February 20, Nely Angelica Galdamez, 21, was arrested for OWI, 1st offense.

Thefts, Miscellaneous

At 12 a.m. on February 14, Donald Chester Hollrah, of Denison, reported the theft of a personal check in the amount of $661 drawn on Crawford County Bank.

At 10:18 a.m. on February 15, Urzula Limon Baca, 28, of Denison reported a hit-and-run in which her mailbox had been knocked over on February 12, causing approximately $500 in damage. Baca stated she left home around 11 a.m. on February 12 and the mailbox was not damaged. She noticed it knocked over the next morning.

At 9 a.m. on February 19, two abandoned vehicles were reported in Schleswig on 1st Street and Date and the 200 block of Glad Street. Waderich’s Towing removed the vehicles - a red 1999 Buick Park Avenue and a red 1991 Chevrolet S-10 pickup. Neither vehicle had plates. Both had not been moved since February 12.

Accidents

At 9:08 p.m. on February 15, Austin Edward Freese, 17, of Denison, driver of a white 2003 Chevrolet pickup, was traveling south in the 2300 block of Arrowhead Road and was negotiating a right hand curve. The gravel road had some snowpack on it. Freese took the corner too fast and failed to maintain control of his vehicle. As the vehicle exited the corner sliding, it entered the south ditch and collided with a tree, causing damage to the cab. Freese was not injured. Freese’s vehicle sustained $6,000 damage.

At 7:51 a.m. on February 19, Fernando Jose Garcia, 16, of Denison, driver of a gold 2005 Nissan Maxima, was northbound in the Denison High School parking lot approaching parking space #205. Brandon Eugene Boger, 33, of Earling, driver of a yellow 2005 JD skidloader, was southbound in the same parking lot cleaning up snow when Garcia’s vehicle struck the right side of the bucket on the skidloader. Garcia’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,500 in damages. There was no damage to the skidloader bucket.
