Arrests

At 11:06 a.m. on February 8, Paul Ter, 38, of Denison, was arrested for public intoxication.

At 8 p.m. on February 8, Duol Duer Door, 24, of Denison, was arrested for possession of marijuana, 1st offense.

At 2:04 a.m. on February 9, Antonio Garcia, 26, of Denison was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.

At 10:26 p.m. on February 10, Tammy McCollough, of Vail, reported neighbors throwing something at her house. Bryan Wolfe was arrested for interference.

Thefts

At 5:27 p.m. on February 7, Rick Wulf, of Deloit, reported a missing vehicle.

Accidents

At 9:10 a.m. on February 8, Emily Logan of Denison, driver of a gold 2002 Chrysler Concorde was driving east on Highway 141 near 230th Street when she lost control, slid across the highway entering the north ditch and coming to a stop in the trees. Logan was not injured. The highway had a slick spot due to blowing snow. Logan’s vehicle sustained $1,000 in damages.

At 9:56 a.m. on February 8, Patrick Alan Wiedman, 33, of Missouri Valley, driver of a gray 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was stopped for a stop sign at the middle junction of Highway 59 and Highway 30 in Denison. Donna Marie Kahl, 53, of Dow City, driver of a silver 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser was approaching the same intersection, northbound, following Wiedman. Kahl stated to being distracted by the rear seat falling open and failed to stop, striking the rear of Wiedman’s vehicle. There was $3,500 damage to Kahl’s vehicle and $2,000 damage to Wiedman’s vehicle. Kahl was charged with failure to maintain control.

At 12:28 a.m. on February 9, Quenten Wade Gurney, 18, of Schleswig, driver of a red 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup, was backing from the eighth parking stall north of the circular driveway at the Denison High School faculty parking lot. Hallie Sue Hemer, 17, of Odebolt, driver of a black 2009 Chevrolet Malibu was backing from the sixth parking stall north of the same driveway along 16th Street and stated she stopped backing and that Gurney continued backing and struck her vehicle. Gurney confirmed Hemer’s statement. There was $2,000 damage to Gurney’s vehicle and $2,000 damage to Hemer’s vehicle.

At 8:29 a.m. on February 9th, there was a report of a 2005 Oldsmobile Alero in the ditch at L51 and 130th Street/S Avenue. No one was in or around the vehicle.

At 6:54 p.m. on February 10, Zach Preul of Denison struck a deer with his vehicle on South Main Loop in Denison. His vehicle sustained minor damage and the deer was killed.
