John Edward Willroth, 54, of Carter Oak, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Sioux City on Thursday to 12 years in federal prison.

He was convicted of one count of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and one count of distributing methamphetamine on November 16, 2018.

In his guilty plea, Willroth admitted that from about 2016 through March 2018 he was involved in a conspiracy that distributed at least 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine. In addition to a prison sentence, Willroth must serve an eight-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
