Denison-Schleswig was outscored 15-9 by Alta-Aurelia in nonconference baseball action on Wednesday night at Denison.
The loss was the fourth in five games for D-S, which fell to 12-10 overall on the season.
The Monarchs managed only five hits off three Alta-Aurelia pitchers.
Alta-Aurelia jumped out to a 5-0 lead before D-S got three back in the last of the second inning to make it 5-3.
The Warriors then put three in the board in the third and two more in the fourth to make it 8-3.
The Monarchs plated three runs in the last of the sixth to pull to within 8-6, but A-A then scored five times in the top of the seventh for a 15-6 advantage.
D-S ended the scoring with three runs in its final at bat.
Jack Mendlik went 1-for-2 with one run batted in and two runs scored to lead D-S.
Sean Moran was 1-for-2 with one run. Nathan Gallup went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI.
Jaden Petersen was 1-for-4 and Evan Turin wound up 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run for the Monarchs, which committed seven errors in the loss.
D-S used four pitchers on the night.
Dawson Dorhout started and took the loss in three and two-thirds, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on nine hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.
Trey Brotherton threw one and two-thirds, yielding one hit. Petersen then went two-thirds of an inning, giving up one run with one K and one walk.
Dylan Gehlsen tossed one inning in relief, as he allowed four runs on two hits with one K and two walks.
D-S won the junior varsity contest, 9-3.
Carlos Salazar earned the pitching win for the Monarchs, which took advantage of nine walks.
