Ar-We-Va boys open at Audubon Early Bird

The Ar-We-Va boys opened their 2019 track and field season on Tuesday at the Audubon Early Bird.

No team points were kept at the meet.

Drew Schurke had the top finish for the Rockets, placing second in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 1 1/4 inch.

CAM’s DeShawn Carr won the long jump at 20-2 1/2.

Keegan Simons placed third in the high jump for Ar-We-Va with a best effort of 5-10.

Treynor’s Jack Tiarks took first in the high jump at 6-4.

Ar-We-Va’s Derek Oeser finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.89.

The Rockets’ distance medley relay team of Schurke, Oeser, Dalton Ehlers and Cody Self ran fourth in 4:14.10.

Will Ragaller placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in 57.81.

Cooper Kock finished sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles for the Rockets in 17.5. Oeser was seventh in the same event in 17.53.
