Ar-We-Va girls drop 6-2 decision to Crusaders

The Ar-We-Va girls suffered a 6-2 Rolling Valley Conference softball loss to Coon Rapids-Bayard on Friday night at Coon Rapids.

The setback put Ar-We-Va at 2-2 in the RVC and overall.

Ar-We-Va scored the game’s initial run in the top of the first inning, but CR-B then got two back in its half of the first and plated four runs in the second to make it 6-1.

The Rockets tallied the game’s final run in the sixth.

Leslie Luft went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run for Ar-We-Va. Maggie Ragaller was 1-for-3 with one run, while Maddie Owen also went 1-for-3.

Jadeyn Smith took the pitching loss, as she gave up six runs on five hits, struck out five and walked three.
