Ar-We-Va produced a nine-run fifth inning on Wednesday night, as the Rocket boys picked up a 14-3 victory in five innings over Boyer Valley at Dunlap.
The win moved Ar-We-Va to 1-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference and 1-1 overall, while the loss dropped BV to 0-2 in the RVC and 0-2 overall.
Leading 5-3 after four innings, Ar-We-Va pushed nine runs across in the top of the fifth to eventually win the game by the 10-run rule.
The Rockets had 10 hits in all.
Keegan Simons went 2-for-4 with one run batted in and two runs scored.
Dalton Ehlers went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Drew Schurke was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs. Damon Ehlers also was 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run.
Schurke threw all five innings for the win, as he allowed five hits with 11 strikeouts and only two walks.
Conlan Petersen led BV’s hitting attack by going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
Kyle Hast, Jonathon Shimerdia and Lucas Berens all had singles for the Bulldogs.
Hunter Soma threw four and one-third for BV and took the loss, as he gave up 12 runs on nine hits with five Ks and one walk.
Petersen also threw two-thirds of an inning, yielding two runs on two hits with two Ks and one walk.
