The Boyer Valley girls and boys hosted a cross country meet on Thursday at Dunlap.
On the girls’ side, IKM-Manning placed second overall with 56 points, while Boyer Valley was fourth with 92 points.
Logan-Magnolia had the top three individual finishes, as the Panthers literally ran away with the team title with a total of 17 points.
On the boys’ side, IKM-Manning claimed the team title with 47 points.
Boyer Valley ran fourth overall with 81 points.
Morgan Hanson paced the IKM-Manning girls on Thursday, placing fourth overall out of 31 runners in 22 minutes, 31.23 seconds.
Lo-Ma’s Taylor Sporrer won the individual title in 21:04.58.
Kate Sutton ran eighth for IKM-Manning in a time of 23:53.40.
She was followed by Kaitlynn Spoelstra (16th, 25:53.97), McKenna Mullen (18th, 26:20.33) and Julianna Stribe (23rd, 28:53.22).
Kylie Petersen led the BV girls, placing 13th in 25:23.63.
Marie Hanigan finished 14th in 25:38.99.
She was followed by Sky Freeman (28th, 32:52.90), Carly Lehan (29th, 34:12.67), Claire Gross (30th, 36:29.50) and Nicole Behrendt (31st, 38:09.78).
IKM-Manning Junior Quentin Dreyer took home the individual title on Thursday, crossing first out of 47 athletes in a time of 18:03.19.
Adam Gruhn and Connor Keller ran sixth and seventh, respectively, in times of 19:33.79 and 19:37.43.
Tanner Spoelstra ran 14th in 20:01.94.
He was followed by Timothy Conner (21st, 20:40.45), Caden Keller (30th, 21:42.90), Joel McLaws (31st, 21:43.24), Carter Sorensen (33rd, 22:04.71), Nathan Johnson (36th, 22:26.08) and Zander Nielsen (44th, 27:49.68).
"Dreyer had a very solid race today. He answered a strong move by a runner trying to lose him. He did a great job answering today and getting the first-place finish," commented IKM-Manning coach Robert Cast.
"Keller had a great second half of the race and had a great finish. Gruhn also is running well right now. I was pleased all of the boys tonight," he added.
"Hanson ran a great race for the girls and seems to be over an illness she had been battling. Sutton also ran well again, as her effort in practice has paid off," Cast remarked.
Patrick Heffernan led the BV boys on Thursday by placing third overall in 18:48.36.
Ethan Hanigan ran 16th for the Bulldogs in 20:20.97.
He was followed by Clay Roberts (18th, 20:24.43), Nathaniel Green (20th, 20:30.19), Jack Heistand (29th, 21:19.06), Ian Garside (34th, 22:23.32) and Caden Nielsen (38th, 22:50.92).
