Boyer Valley snapped a three-match losing streak in Rolling Valley Conference play on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of Ar-We-Va at Dunlap.
Larry Neilsen’s BV club defeated the visiting Rockets 25-21, 30-28, 25-17, as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-4 in the RVC, 12-12 overall in matches and 37-31 in games.
Ar-We-Va, which had won two straight RVC matches, fell to 5-3 in the conference, 7-9 overall in matches and 22-26 in games played on the year.
Katelyn Neilsen went 17-of-19 in serving with three aces for BV.
Talia Burkhart was 14-of-14 with one ace for the winners. Taylor Klein also was 14-of-14 with two aces. Leah Cooper was 9-of-11 with three aces and Abbie Miller finished 8-of-11 with one ace.
Jessica Fokken paced BV at the net with a team-high 16 kills. Neilsen was next with eight kills, while Cooper collected six kills in the three games.
Miller contributed a team-high 31 assists.
Taylor Klein led in digs with 11. Sydney Klein added eight digs. Cooper and Miller each had seven digs for the hosts.
For Ar-We-Va, Sara Schurke had 18 assists, five digs, three ace serves and one kill.
Jadeyn Smith added 10 kills, eight digs and two blocks. Bridget Cameron also had eight kills, three blocks and two digs.
Leslie Luft turned in a night of 20 digs and one ace serve. Hannah Kraus also had 10 digs, three ace serves and one kill.
Jamie Hausman finished with four digs and one kill, while Maggie Ragaller had three kills, two ace serves and one assist for the Rockets.
"The girls fought hard, especially in the second set, but Boyer Valley was able to find our holes well tonight," commented Ar-We-Va coach Sarah Smith.
"We put forth quite an effort, but couldn’t get the momentum swinging in our favor," she added.
