The Boyer Valley girls and boys were victorious over Charter Oak-Ute on Friday night at Dunlap.
In the opener, Larry Neilsen’s BV squad outscored CO-U 42-11 in the second half en route to a 61-33 victory.
In the nightcap, Andrew Armstead’s BV club outscored CO-U 27-7 in the fourth quarter to pull off a 68-54 triumph over the Bobcats at home.
With Friday’s 28-point win, BV finished 14-4 in the Rolling Valley Conference, while moving to 16-4 overall.
With the loss, CO-U fell to 9-7 in the RVC and 10-9 overall.
CO-U actually led 22-19 at halftime, but was outscored 24-5 in the third, as the Lady Bulldogs opened up a 43-27 lead going into the fourth.
BV then outscored CO-U 18-6 over the final eight minutes to win going away.
Erin Weber paced BV with 16 points, adding four boards, three assists and two steals.
Cathryn Klein followed with 15 points, seven boards and three steals.
Klein scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half.
Ella Meyer contributed a double-double with 12 points and eight boards to go with two assists and two steals.
Anna Puck also had five points, four boards and four steals for the winners.
For CO-U, Tori Nuzum netted 11 points with four boards and two steals.
Caylie Boyle added 11 points, three boards and two assists. Taya Thomas also had seven points, six boards, three steals, two assists and one block.
"We gave them easy points off turnovers and then second-chance points that came from offensive rebounds," commented Charter Oak-Ute coach Derek Dougherty.
The BV boys made it four wins in a row on Friday night, as the Bulldogs concluded RVC play at 11-7 and overall.
The loss dropped CO-U to 6-9 in league play and 8-10 overall.
CO-U actually led 31-24 at halftime and 47-41 starting the fourth quarter, but BV tallied 27 of the 34 points scored over the final eight minutes for the win.
Joe Weber paced BV with 34 points, including sinking 20 of his team’s 27 points in the fourth.
Hitting 13-of-15 free throws, he also had six boards and four assists.
Dawson Hikins added 11 points. Jalen Malone had eight points, eight boards and two blocks.
Cody Berens followed with six points and four boards.
"This was tough, well-played game by both teams," commented BV’s Armstead.
BV connected on 16-of-21 foul shots.
For CO-U, Jesse Hupp paced the Bobcats with 17 points, adding five boards and four assists.
Caleb Clemon contributed 13 points, three boards and two assists.
Spencer Gress followed with nine points and two boards. Hunter Clausen added eight points, 12 boards and two assists.
Luke Staley also had five points, nine assists and two boards for Trent Lally’s CO-U club, which turned the ball over only six times, but made just 10-of-21 free throws.
