The Boyer Valley girls claimed the team championship and the Bulldog boys ran second in their respective divisions at the 2018 Rolling Valley Conference Cross Country Meet on Thursday at Dunlap.
The BV girls tallied 38 points and won the RVC title by two points over second-place Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton’s 40-point total.
CAM took third with 70 points and West Harrison was fourth with 71 points.
On the boys’ side, BV tallied 46 points for second behind champion Woodbine’s winning tally of 22 points.
CAM placed third with 67 points.
The BV girls had the top three individual finishes.
Kylie Petersen won the RVC individual title out of 35 runners in a time of 22 minutes, 21.38 seconds.
Teammates Katlyn Tremel and Marie Hanigan ran second and third, respectively, in times of 22:53.44 and 23:02.04.
Katy Puck ran 16th for the BV girls ia clocking of 25:53.23.
She was followed by Jessica Heiman (19th, 26:53.55), Sky Freeman (20th, 26:59.76), Caleigh Van Houten (28th, 28:53.49), Nicole Behrendt (34th, 31:51.71) and Carly Lehan (35th, 31:59.08).
The BV boys were led by Justin Ambrose, who bettered the field of 28 athletes to take home the RVC individual title in 17:16.95.
Nathaniel Green ran 10th in 20:10.36.
He was followed by Ben Zehner (12th, 20:19.29), Adam Puck (13th, 20:20.05), Clay Roberts, 14th, 20:27.61) and Ben Behrendt (25th, 25:05.81).
