Lady Bulldogs at CAM

Boyer Valley knocked off CAM by a 3-2 margin in Rolling Valley Conference action on Tuesday night at Anita.

Larry Neilsen’s BV club won games one (25-20) and two (25-20), but then CAM took games three (25-14) and four (25-20), forcing a fifth and final set to 15.

BV jumped out to a big lead in the deciding set and then hung on for a 15-12 victory to win the match and deny CAM at least an opportunity to share the RVC regular season title.

With the win, BV finished 5-3 in conference play, while moving to 12-11 overall in matches and 31-32 in games.

Abbie Miller led BV in serving by going 21-of-21 with two aces.

Katelyn Neilsen went 19-of-20 with four aces.

Jessica Fokken went 13-of-14. Jessica Heiman was 13-of-15 with one ace. Katy Puck also was 14-of-15.

Fokken had a monster night at the net with a career-high 34 kills.

Chelsey Fundermann added 13 kills. Abby Burkhart also had five kills for the Lady Bulldogs.

Miller had a team-high 36 assists.

Neilsen led the team with 13 digs. Miller and Puck each had 11, while Taylor Klein finished with six.

Fokken also led her team with two solo blocks and three block assists.

Burkhart had two block assists on the night.

"It was a good way to end conference play," commented BV’s Neilsen.

"We’ve been telling the team all season that if we could maintain our confidence and find some consistency in our play, we would be right in the mix for the top team in the conference."

"Hopefully that is the boost we need going into the conference and postseason tournament play," Neilsen remarked.
