The CAM girls and Boyer Valley boys were winners in Rolling Valley Conference action on Friday night at Anita.
In game one, the Class 1A sixth-ranked CAM girls jumped up 33-13 at halftime en route to a 70-26 victory over Larry Neilsen’s BV club.
In the nightcap, the BV boys used a balanced scoring attack in picking up their first victory of the young season with a 72-62 triumph over the host Cougars.
Friday’s loss dropped the BV girls to 0-2 in the RVC and 0-3 overall on the season.
Leading 16-6 after the first quarter, CAM outscored BV 17-7 in the second to take a 33-13 advantage at the break.
Ahead 41-16 with six minutes left in the third, CAM then went on a 20-0 run during a five-minute span, as the Cougars went ahead 61-16 with seven minutes left in the fourth.
Chelsey Fundermann led BV with nine points, adding six rebounds.
Marie Hanigan had six points, five assists and three boards. Abby Burkhart also had six points and three boards. Leah Cooper finished with four points, two boards and two steals for the Lady Bulldogs, which turned the ball over 29 times in the loss.
Friday’s 10-point win was the initial win for BV first-year head coach Shane Reineke.
Up 38-29 at halftime, BV outscored CAM 20-16 in the third for a 58-45 lead going into the fourth.
Lucas Berens paced the BV boys with a double-double effort of 22 points and 10 boards to go with three steals, two assists and two shot blocks.
Gavin Reineke followed with 19 points, sinking four three-point baskets, while adding four boards and three assists.
Dylan Berens also had 17 points, six boards and four assists. Hunter Soma contributed six points, nine assists, three boards and two steals.
Conlan Petersen also had six points (two, three-pointers), four boards and two assists for the Bulldogs.
