Boyer Valley and Coon Rapids-Bayard split a pair of Rolling Valley Conference games on Monday night at Coon Rapids.
In the opener, the CR-B girls avenged an earlier loss to BV by pulling off a 50-41 victory over Larry Neilsen’s Lady Bulldog squad.
In the nightcap, BV’s Lucas Berens and Dylan Berens combined for 27 points, as the Bulldog boys picked up a 38-27 triumph over the host Crusaders.
The BV girls suffered their third loss in four games on Monday night, as the Lady Bulldogs finished 7-9 in RVC play, while falling to 7-13 overall on the season.
BV trailed 34-31 after three quarters and was within two at 37-35 with three minutes remaining, but then CR-B outscored the Lady Bulldogs 13-6 the rest of the way.
CR-B converted 13-of-18 free throws in the win, including 9-of-11 in the second half alone.
Chelsey Fundermann led BV’s attack with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Katelyn Neilsen added eight points, five boards and three steals.
Katy Puck chipped in with seven points, five boards, three assists and three steals as well for Larry Neilsen’s club.
Taylor Klein also had six points and three boards for the Lady Bulldogs, which had defeated CR-B (44-21) back on January 4 at Dunlap.
In a low-scoring affair, the BV boys beat CR-B for the second time this season in finishing 9-7 in RVC play and moving to 10-9 overall.
The first half was the difference for BV, which outscored CR-B 24-13 before the break. Both teams scored 14 points in the second half.
Lucas Berens tallied 14 points to lead BV.
Dylan Berens posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards to go with two steals.
Gavin Reineke sank six points with five steals, three boards and three assists, while Kyle Hast had four points, seven boards and two assists for the winners.
BV beat CR-B (48-42) back on January 4 at Dunlap.
