Ar-We-Va bolted out to a 5-0 lead over CAM on Monday night, but the Rockets would eventually fall 7-6 in eight innings to the Cougars in Rolling Valley Conference baseball action at Anita.
The loss moved Ar-We-Va to 4-3 in the RVC and 5-4 overall.
Ar-We-Va plated a single run in the second to take a 6-1 lead, but CAM netted three runs in the last of the third to pull to within 6-4.
The Cougars then tied it with two runs in the sixth and eventually scored the winning run in the eighth.
The Rockets collected 11 hits in the loss.
Will Ragaller went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Henry Segebart was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and one run.
Drew Schurke went 2-for-3 with one run.
Keegan Simons also was 2-for-4. Damon Ehlers finished 1-for-1 with two RBIs and one run.
Ragaller tossed five innings, allowing four runs on three hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Cooper Kock went two innings and took the loss after giving up one run on two hits with two walks.
Schurke also worked one inning in relief, yielding two runs on two hits with three Ks and one walk.
