Four Charter Oak-Ute boys scored in double figures last Friday night, as the Bobcats put together one of their best efforts of the year with a 64-59 victory over Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton at Charter Oak.
In the opener, the Class 1A third-ranked Exira/EH-K girls raced out to a 20-2 first-quarter lead en route to a 63-30 triumph over the host Lady Bobcats.
Friday’s 33-point loss snapped a two-game win streak for CO-U, which fell to 7-4 in the Rolling Valley Conference and 8-6 overall.
Exira/EH-K, up by 18 after one quarter, outscored CO-U 22-9 in the second and enjoyed a 31-point edge at halftime at 42-11.
Casey Carstens paced CO-U with her third consecutive double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds to go with two shot blocks.
Caylie Boyle added eight points, five boards and two blocks. Tori Nuzum also had five points, seven boards, three steals and two assists.
Taya Thomas finished with three points, five boards and two assists.

Up 31-28 at halftime, CO-U outscored the visiting Spartans 15-8 in the third to open up a 46-36 lead going into the fourth.
Spencer Gress paced CO-U’s attack with 17 points, as he drained four three-point shots.
Jesse Hupp added 13 points, eight boards and two assists. Hunter Clausen also had 13 points and eight boards, while Luke Staley finished with 12 points, seven boards, six assists, two steals and one block.
Caleb Clemon also had nine points, seven assists, three boards and three steals.
