Charter Oak-Ute suffered a pair of Rolling Valley Conference losses to Glidden-Ralston on Saturday at Glidden.
In game one, CO-U had a two-game win streak snapped in a 66-19 loss to the Class 1A, fourth-ranked G-R girls.
In game two, the host Wildcat boys handed CO-U its second straight loss with a 58-50 victory over the visiting Bobcats.
Statistics for the CO-U boys were not available at press time.
Saturday’s loss put CO-U at 9-5 in the RVC and 10-7 overall.
The Lady Bobcats fell behind 24-6 after the first quarter and trailed 40-12 at halftime.
Derek Dougherty’s CO-U team then was outscored 19-0 in the third quarter, as G-R took a 59-12 lead into the fourth.
Caylie Boyle led CO-U with six points and two blocks. Tori Nuzum added five points.
Casey Carstens also had four points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Lizzie Jepsen finished with three points and two boards for the Lady Bobcats.
"Glidden-Ralston came out and pressured us right away and also made their first five shots, so were were down 11-0 about two minutes into the game," commented Dougherty.
"They started off with a lot more intensity and we struggled with their full-court press. I was a little disappointed that we did not compete as well with Glidden-Ralston. We are a much better team than we showed
Saturday afternoon," he added.
