The Charter Oak-Ute girls and boys were victorious over West Harrison in Rolling Valley Conference action last Saturday at Mondamin.
In game one, CO-U placed four girls in double figures, as the Lady Bobcats picked up a 62-50 triumph.
In game two, CO-U raced out to a 29-17 halftime lead en route to a 65-45 victory over the host Hawkeyes.
With Saturday’s 12-point win, CO-U improved to 8-4 in the RVC and 9-6 overall.
The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 17-6 first-quarter lead and led 25-17 at halftime.
Caylie Boyle scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for CO-U.
Casey Carstens continued her recent tear with her fourth straight and eighth double-double of the season with 14 points and 22 boards on the night.
Taya Thomas added 12 points, five boards, four assists, two steals and one shot block, while Tori Nuzum had 11 points, three boards and three steals.
Jennifer Stallons also had nine points, two boards, two assists and two steals for the Lady Bobcats.
"Offensively, we played one of our better games as we nearly had five girls in double figures," commented Charter Oak-Ute coach Derek Dougherty.
"They (WH) played a couple of different unique defenses and tried to take certain things away, and I thought we did a good job finding the open spots for the most part offensively," he added.
Trent Lally’s CO-U club won for the second straight outing and beat West Harrison for the second time this season, as the Bobcats moved to 5-6 in the RVC and 7-7 overall.
Up 29-17 at halftime, CO-U outscored the Hawkeyes 23-13 in the third quarter for a 52-30 advantage going into the fourth.
Luke Staley paced CO-U’s attack with 15 points, adding six assists, five boards and five steals.
Jesse Hupp contributed a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.
Hunter Clausen also had 13 points and six boards. Caleb Clemon finished with eight points, three steals and two assists.
Spencer Gress had five points, four boards and three assists as well.
