The Charter Oak-Ute girls and boys were winners over Paton-Churdan in Rolling Valley Conference basketball action on Saturday at Charter Oak.
Three CO-U girls scored in double figures in the opener, as the Lady Bobcats won their third straight game with a 46-36 victory.
In game two, the CO-U boys also picked up their third consecutive win with a 56-52 triumph over the visiting Rockets.
With Saturday’s 10-point win, CO-U improved to 4-1 in the RVC and 5-2 overall.
The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 15-5 first-quarter lead and led 24-14 at halftime.
Both teams scored 22 points in the second half.
Jennifer Stallons scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds for CO-U.
Tori Nuzum added 10 points, four boards, five assists and two steals.
Caylie Boyle chipped in with 10 points and five boards. Taya Thomas had eight points, six boards, five steals and four assists.
Casey Carstens also had seven points, 14 boards and four steals for the winners.
"I liked the way we played defense. We were able to come out and pressure the ball, force some turnovers and give ourselves extra opportunities on offense," commented Charter Oak-Ute coach Derek Dougherty.
Jesse Hupp posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards to lead CO-U, which moved to 2-2 in the RVC and 3-3 overall.
Luke Staley tallied 16 points, five boards and three assists, while Caleb Clemon had 11 points and three assists for the Bobcats, which led 26-24 at halftime.
