D-S runners at Perry

The Denison-Schleswig girls and boys competed at the Perry Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday.

On the boys’ side, D-S tallied 121 team points to place fifth overall.

The D-S girls, meanwhile, netted 180 points to take home seventh place in the final team standings.

"The boys and girls ran great. We had several athletes out of the varsity lineups with various injuries. Even though we were missing several people, I was extremely proud of how we ran," commented Denison-Schleswig coach Nick Bradley.

Leo Flores paced the D-S boys, placing eighth overall in 18 minutes, 26 seconds.

Colton Johnson ran 19th in 18:53. Logan Dahm finished 26th in 19:12.

Dahm was followed by Cole Carlson (36th, 19:28), Josh Ahrenholtz (40th, 19:39), Dalton Fredericks (44th, 19:50) and Ethan Muck (45th, 19:51).

The D-S girls were led by Claire Miller, who placed 10th overall in 21:28.

Bella Araujo ran 41st, in 24:28. Olivia Gunderson finished 52nd in 25:18.

Gunderson was followed by Juliana Barajas (54th, 25:24), Lauren Bowker (64th, 26:12), Elizabeth Cary (68th, 26:28), Kailey Cano (77th, 27:05), Ximena Ramos (90th, 28:29), Jazmine Iglesias (93rd, 28:32), Daisy Olivera (104th, 30:17) and Olivia Meyer (105th, 30:17).
