The Denison-Schleswig girls wrapped up their regular season in soccer on Thursday with a 1-0 loss to Kuemper Catholic at Denison.

D-S, 5-8 overall, will now turn its attention to postseason play, as Nick Bradley’s Monarchs are home tonight (Tuesday) against Carroll High in a Class 2A regional semifinal match at Denison at 6 p.m.

Courtney Schenkelberg scored the lone goal of the match, as Kuemper Catholic improved to 13-4-1 overall on the season.

Kuemper outshot D-S, 13-8, including 6-3 in shots on goal.

Kailey Pick played in goal for the Monarchs and finished with five saves on the night.

"Although we didn’t win tonight, this was a great finish to the regular season. Kuemper is a very good team with a very good record," commented Bradley.
