Lady Bulldogs upend Spartans in four

Boyer Valley came away with a 25-12, 25-18, 21-25, 28-26 victory over Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton in Rolling Valley Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night at at Elk Horn.

The win evened BV’s RVC mark at 2-2, while moving the Lady Bulldogs to 7-7 overall in matches and 18-19 in games.

Jessica Fokken went 24-of-24 in serving with one ace to lead BV.

Katelyn Neilsen was 15-of-16 with two aces and Katy Puck also was 15-of-16 with three aces.

Abbie Miller finished 15-of-19 with three aces as well.

Fokken had a huge night at the net with 17 kills. Chelsey Fundermann added nine, as did Marie Hanigan. Neilsen finished with six kills.

Miller paced her team with 36 assists.

Puck had a team-high seven digs. Jessica Heiman followed with three.

Fokken also had one solo block and one block assist.
