Alex Mohr scored six goals on Friday in leading Denison-Schleswig to a 7-0 varsity girls’ soccer victory over Missouri Valley at Denison.
The win snapped a three-match losing streak for D-S, which improved to 4-6 overall on the year.
Mohr’s six goals upped her season total to 18.
Vanessa Gunderson added another goal for the Monarchs, which outshot Missouri Valley 37-5, including 26-6 in shots on goal.
Olivia Gunderson played 65 minutes in goal and finished with five saves for the Monarchs.
Kailey Pick also played 16 minutes in goal and did not face any shots.
Friday’s match was the eighth in 10 days for Nick Bradley’s squad.
"The girls handled all of the games with great attitudes. We did a great job tonight in getting a ton of shots off. We controlled the ball extremely well and pushed up the field," commented Bradley.
"We also moved some people around and try and get them a better feels for different positions. All of the girls accepted the challenge and did a great job. We now have a week off," Bradley remarked.
