Denison-Schleswig suffered a 10-1 loss to Tri-Center in girls’ varsity soccer action on Monday night at Neola.
The setback was the fourth in five matches for D-S, which fell to 4-7 overall on the season.
Vanessa Gunderson scored the only goal for D-S early in the first half.
T-C outshot D-S, 18-13, including 15-9 in shots on goal.
Kailey Pick played in goal for the Monarchs and had five saves on the night.
"Tonight was a rough night for the Monarchs, but the score doesn’t show how far we have come this year," commented Denison-Schleswig coach Nick Bradley.
"Gunderson was able to put us on the board early in the game and then we fell flat. We didn’t get beat because of talent or overall shots on goal. We lost tonight because of the hustle plays and trust in our teammates," he added.
"We fell mentally tonight," Bradley stated.
