The IKM-Manning girls and boys defeated Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto/CO-U in nonconference basketball action on Monday night at Manning.
In game one, the IKM-Manning girls placed five in double figures, as the Wolves cruised to an 83-45 victory.
In the nightcap, the IKM-Manning boys had to go to overtime to pull out a 41-35 triumph over the host Rams.
With Monday’s 38-point win, IKM-Manning moved to 15-4 overall on the season.
After holding a slim 20-16 first-quarter lead, IKM-Manning outscored MV/A-O/CO-U 63-29 the rest of the way to win going away.
Five girls scored in double figures for Gene Rasmussen’s club.
Caitlin Muhlbauer led the way with 21 points to go with six rebounds.
Alexa Ahrenholtz had 16 points, nine assists, six steals and five boards in the contest.
Sydney Wegner added 16 points and six boards.
Gabrielle Cadwell contributed 13 points, five boards and three assists, while Lexi Branning finished with 12 points for the winners, which held a 31-9 edge in rebounds.
IKM-Manning snapped a two-game losing streak, as the Wolves improved to 12-7 overall with Monday’s seven-point triumph in overtime.
The two teams went to overtime tied at 40-40, but then IKM-Manning outscored MV/A-O/CO-U 11-5 in the extra four-minute period for the win.
Alex Lingle paced the Wolves with 12 points to go with seven boards.
Ethan Carter added 10 points, three boards and two shots blocks.
Nathan Blankman had six points, as did Amos Rasmussen, who also collected two steals.
Kyler Rasmussen finished with four points, three boards, three assists and two steals as well for the Wolves.
