Rocket girls handle ESC at home

Rockets vs. Raider girls

The Ar-We-Va girls came away with a 6-1 nonconference softball victory over East Sac County on Thursday night at Vail.

It was the second straight win for Ar-We-VB, which moved to 6-7 overall on the year.

Hannah Kraus went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs batted in and a run scored to pace the Rockets.

Leslie Luft was 1-for-4 with two runs. Sara Schurke and Emily Hinners both went 1-for-3 with runs scored. Maci Ruch also was 1-for-3 and Maddie Owen drove in a pair of runs.

Jadeyn Smith went the distance in the circle, allowing the one run on four hits with five Ks and two walks for the win.
