The Ar-We-Va girls placed seventh and boys eighth in their respective divisions at the 2019 Ace Nelson Relays on Monday at Denison.
On the girls’ side, Ar-We-Va netted 41 points.
Denison-Schleswig was your team champion with 176 points.
On the boys’ side, Ar-We-Va finished with 44 points. IKM-Manning claimed the boys’ team title with 139 points.
Leading the way for Ar-We-Va was Leslie Luft, who placed second in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 2 inches.
Luft added third-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (14.14 seconds) and 100-meter hurdles (16.84).
Hannah Kraus placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (28.87), while Emily Hinners took fourth in both the shot put (32-11) and discus (97-9).
Keegan Simons in the high jump and Derek Oeser in the 110-meter high hurdles each placed second for Ar-We-Va at the Ace Nelson Relays.
Simons cleared 6-2 in the high jump, while Oeser ran 16.28 in the 110-meter high hurdles.
The Rockets’ 4x200 relay team of Brady Miller, Riley Neumann, Will Ragaller and Keegan Simons ran third in 1:40.38.
Oeser finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.02), while the 4x100 relay foursome of Miller, Neumann, Ragaller and Simons took fourth in 47.99.
