Ar-We-Va picked up a pair of Rolling Valley Conference victories on Friday night against Woodbine at Westside.
In the opener, the Ar-We-Va girls raced out to a 22-9 first-quarter lead en route to a 62-32 victory.
Then in the nightcap, the Ar-We-Va boys led 34-18 at halftime and wound up earning a 74-58 triumph over the visiting Tigers.
Girls’ results
Friday’s 30-point win snapped a three-game losing streak for Ar-We-Va, which moved to 9-4 in the RVC and 10-6 overall.
Leading 30-16 at halftime, Ar-We-Va outscored Woodbine 22-11 in the third en route to a 52-27 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Rockets were led by Emilee Danner, who posted a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds to go with eight steals, seven assists and four shot blocks.
Leslie Luft chipped in with 12 points.
Jadeyn Smith added 10 points, nine boards and two assists, while Sara Schurke had six points and four boards for the winners.
Boys’ results
The Ar-We-Va boys cruised to their 16th consecutive victory, as the Rockets defeated Woodbine for the second time this season.
Keegan Simons led Ar-We-Va with 23 points to go with five boards.
Drew Schurke hit five, three-point baskets, netting 19 points with seven assists and three boards.
Derek Oeser had 10 points, five assists and four boards. Will Ragaller added eight points.
Wyatt Neumann also had seven points and seven boards for the Rockets, which led 58-33 going into the fourth and final quarter.
