The Ar-We-Va boys plated two runs in three different innings on Tuesday night, as the Rockets picked up a 6-1 nonconference baseball victory at Whiting.
The win moved Austin Stoelk’s Ar-We-Va club to 2-2 overall on the season.
Ar-We-Va jumped up 2-0 after its first at bat and led 4-0 when Whiting plated its lone run in the third.
The Rockets then pushed two more runs across in the fourth to end the scoring.
Keegan Simons went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three stolen bases to lead Ar-We-Va.
Will Ragaller was 1-for-2 with two runs and three stolen bases. Henry Segebart also was 1-for-3 with one run and two stolen bases.
Cooper Kock also plated a run for the winners.
Simons opened on the mound and threw three and one-third, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts and five walks for the win.
Kock tossed two and two-thirds in relief, yielding one hit with five Ks and five walks. Drew Schurke also worked one inning and struck out three after 14 pitches.
