IKM-Manning fell behind 26-7 at halftime and wound up suffering a 32-21 loss to Class 1A Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in the 2019 football season opener for both teams on Friday night at Manning.
AC/G-C outgained IKM-Manning in total yards, 400-199, as the Chargers netted all of their yards on the ground on 65 rushing attempts.
For IKM-Manning, Amos Rasmussen scored a pair of touchdowns, the first on an 81-yard kickoff return in the first quarter and the second on a 34-yard run in the third.
Kyler Rasmussen also had a six-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for the Wolves, which had just 10 first downs to 21 for AC/GC.
Amos Rasmussen led all Wolves’ rushers with 16 carries for 116 yards with the one TD run. Colten Brandt also carried the ball four times for 22 yards.
In passing, Kyler Rasmussen was 1-of-4 for seven yards with an interception. Nolan Ramsey also was 2-of-4 for 36 yards.
Parker Behrens hauled in two passes for 38 yards to lead his team in receiving.
Defensively for the Wolves, Kyler Rasmussen led in tackles with six solos and 11 assists.
Brandt also had six solos and 10 assists, while Will Jorgensen had four solos and 11 assists.
For AC/GC, Kolby Jacobe scored three rushing TDs of 1, 3 and 2 yards.
Gavin Cornelius also had a pair of rushing TDs for the Chargers of 16 and 4 yards.
IKM-Manning will be back in action this Friday night in non-district play at Underwood.
