IKM-Manning and AHST/Walnut split a pair of Western Iowa Conference games on Friday night at Manning.
In the opener, the IKM-Manning girls tallied a balanced scoring attack in a 47-32 victory.
In the nightcap, the IKM-Manning boys raced out to a 27-8 halftime lead en route to a 63-36 triumph over the visiting Vikings.
Friday’s 15-point win kept IKM-Manning unbeaten on the season at 2-0 overall
After trailing 8-7 following the opening quarter, IKM-Manning outscored AHST/W 12-3 in the second to take a 19-11 lead at halftime.
It was 30-20 Wolves after three quarters of play.
Caitlin Muhlbauer led IKM-Manning with a nice all-around effort of 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Lexi Branning also stood out for the Wolves with nine points and six boards. Alexa Ahrenholtz had eight points, four boards, four steals and two assists, while Gabrielle Cadwell finished with seven points, nine boards and three shot blocks.
Nicole Hanson had six points and three boards as well for the winners, which won despite turning the ball over 26 times.
IKM-Manning evened its season record at 1-1 overall with Friday’s 27-point rout.
After shutting out AHST/W in the first quarter for an 8-0 lead, IKM-Manning outscored the Vikings 19-8 in the second for a 27-8 lead at the break.
Keith Wagner’s club then outscored AHST/W 36-28 in the second half for the win.
Ethan Carter paced the Wolves with 15 points to go with seven boards and two shot blocks.
Nathan Blankman followed with 13 points, eight steals and four assists. Alex Lingle added nine points, five boards and three assists.
Amos Rasmussen hit two three-point baskets for six points. Colten Brandt also had five points and a team-high eight boards.
Kyler Rasmussen had five points, four steals and three assists. Colby Keller finished with five points as well.
